Personal Review:
Firstly, let me start by saying this isn’t one of Elton’s best records… BUT I still L-O-V-E Elton John.
So, the album opens with the ever so popular Elton John song “Daniel” – which I’m still not sure what this song is really about, I’ve heard it a bajillion times in my life, but I still love this songs chorus. Sometimes, I piss off Daniel’s that I know by singing them this song. It’s then followed by “Teacher I Need You” – which is a rather surprisingly stand-out track compared to other lesser known Elton John tracks, and well, I feel I could dance and sing to this. After that comes “Elderberry Wine” – and what is an Elderberry? The musicianship is pretty nice! It’s a good song, it has a nice thing going for it. Then comes “Blues for Baby and Me” – which is a slower song, which isn’t my type of thing, as everyone knows, but hey the chorus comes around and things pick up! Which is good! The A-Side ends with the track “Midnight Creeper” – which is a faster song, with really good musicianship – and lyrics, but for some reason this song just doesn’t do it for me.

The B-Side opens with the slower track, “Have Mercy on the Criminal” – which is a really slow and long song, I’m not overly fond of it. It’s an okay track, but just not my thing. It’s followed by the song “I’m Going to Be a Teenage Idol” – and well, I’ve heard Elton do better, I’m not superbly fond of this album thus far, I’ve had maybe three songs so far that I can honestly say that I really, really liked. Then comes the track “Texan Love Song” – which comes around as a pretty good slow track on this album. Then comes one of my favorite Elton tracks, “Crocodile Rock” – which right here, should be the ending track, just end the album here, it’s so great this song. The musicianship, the lyrics, the vocals, the song. It’s all overly amazing! The album closes with the song “High Flying Bird” – which surprisingly makes for a good ending track to this album, though I’d still prefer the previous track to be the actual ending track. It’s a good album.

But the years went by and the rock just died…
