Personal Review:
So, everyone who knows me knows I love Tom Petty, everything about his music is amazing to me. This album in particular, I had bought solely because of the song “Don’t Come Around Here No More” – which is a fantastic track, shortly after listening to this album a few times I grew to love it. So here we go.

The album opens with the amazingly performed “Rebels” – and Tom gets right into it on this track, and everything about it from the first notes right up to that phenomenal chorus. I absolutely love this song, and everything about this album, Tom Petty is fantastic. After that comes “It Ain’t Nothin’ to Me” which is a bit more of a funky track, but still good all the same. I enjoy it. We go on with the amazing “Don’t Come Around Here No More” and well, it brings back a lot of memories, both good and bad, mainly the first time I heard this song and saw the really, really strange music video. After that we end the A-Side with the slower, softer title track, “Southern Accents” and Tom continues to deliver amazing songs on this beautiful album, it’s absolutely fantastic. Such a great way to end the A-Side.

The B-Side opens with the great sounding “Make it Better (Forget About Me)” which comes off with a really pop sound, but I love it! Tom Petty is a fantastic singer and a great songwriter. I’m enjoying this pop sound Tom has going on this track. Then comes “Spike” which I think may be about a dog, or maybe a biker, since it does mention motorcycles. It’s a good song, I’m liking it, though I’m not sure if it’s about dogs, bikers or furries now. We go on with the song “Dogs on the Run” which at least now I know this song is about dogs. It’s a good song, I’m definitely liking this album quite a bit. After that comes “Mary’s New Car” and it’s a good track, a bit slow and not very interesting like the rest of the album, but it’s decent.
