Personal Review:
So, to start, let me say I’ve never seen or heard this band before. I got it simply for the cover.

The A-Side opens with a track titled “Shiny Shiny” and well the female spoken intro “good times come to me now” is a little odd for me, but the rest of the song is pretty good. It’s quite catchy and it makes me want to dance. Oh hey, that was an electric guitar solo. I do quite enjoy the “shiny shiny, bad times behind me” – after that comes “I Lost My Dodi” – the songs kind of remind me of what you’d hear on a B52’s album, but it’s an alright song, nowhere near as good as the previous track, but it’s alright. After that comes the track “More Money” – it’s definitely one of those dance tracks, the lyrics are quite different than most of the bands I’ve done, but this album is more like chill music. Then comes “Jimmy Jive Jive” and it’s an okay track, can’t really complain, the musicianship is pretty nice. The A-Side ends with the song “Sabres of Paradise” – I’m finding a lot of the tracks are performed by just Kate Garner, but that’s not a bad thing, this song seems to be performed by Jeremiah Healy, who is a tremendous vocalist. It makes for a pretty good ending track to the A-Side. It’s a little slow, but it works.

The B-Side opens with the song “Sister Friction” which has Jeremiah on lead vocals again, and he is quite the singer – it’s a pretty solid track. Then comes the song “Shoofly Love” and it’s a pretty fast and catchy dance track, I definitely could dance to this song. Then comes the track “Chizoola” – and you know, reading the lyric sheet as the music plays really makes you wonder what the song is really about… and what does “I taste your taste, chizoola” mean? or even “beat beat banananananana”? I’m at a loss of words. But hey, this isn’t so bad. Oh hey, the song ends with Kate Garner moaning. I finally get what the song was about. “John Wayne is Big Leggy” comes next, and well, apparently it’s about John Wayne’s height. The album ends with the song “Here Comes the Beast” and it’s a pretty good way to end the album, no complaints here!
