Personal Review:
We’re not gonna get into the whole George Michael / Washroom scandal thing… on this review. BUT, let’s just have a nice little chat about how this is a Mexican pressing, I still have no idea where I found it, when I found it, or if I’ve even been to Mexico.
So, the A-Side opens with the song “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” and so many people confuse the chorus of this song, it is ‘go-go‘ not ‘go girl‘ – let’s get it right people! Anyways, the lyrics are in English (for those who may be confused.) and you know, I love Wham! I love George Michael too. I love this song. After that comes the song “Everything She Wants” and now we enter uncharted territory with songs I’ve never heard, or maybe I have. This song does sound quite familiar to me though, I do know this song indeed, and you know, two songs in, and we’re still pretty good. “Heartbeat” comes next, and you know George is one of the most talented singers of the 80’s (in pop music). It’s actually a pretty good song. The A-Side closes with the track “Like a Baby” I’m not too big on the musicianship on this song, but the vocals are pretty solid and to me that is what matters most, the vocals.
The B-Side opens with the song “Freedom” and hey, it’s a not a bad way to open the B-Side, I definitely am feeling my mood being picked up. I think I could even dance to this… okay, maybe not, but I could’ve danced to the first track. Then comes the track “If You Were There” and it seems to be a better track than the previous one, I’m quite partial to the first two tracks on the album so far, maybe the first three. Then comes the song “Credit Card Baby” which features the lyrics “You can have my credit card baby” – and you know, if George Michael offered me his credit card, I’d buy so many records. George Michael, buy me records. The song itself is pretty good though, so can’t really complain. Then the album ends with one of Wham!’s greatest songs, “Careless Whisper” and George’s vocals are amazing, the musicianship rocks and hey, everything about this album has been fantastic.
