The Liner/Sleeve Notes:
THE ZEEBRUGGE FERRY DISASTER MARCH 6, 1987

THIS historic recording took place at PWL Studios, The Borough, London, over three incredible days – March 14, 15 and 16, 1987. All monies received by Ferry Aid will go towards The Sun’s Zeebrugge Disaster fund, Midland Bank, Fleet Street, London.

Personal Review:
So Ferry Aid was much like Band Aid but instead of famine, is was to raise money to set up for after the
capsizing of the MS Herald of Free Enterprise ferry.

The A-Side is “Let It Be” and, yes Paul McCartney opens the song. He is then followed by Boy George, then I slowly lose track of who is who, and the song is pretty good. I always liked these supergroup type of releases. Now the song isn’t sung of performed like the Beatles version, it’s more of an upbeat pop one with lots of guitar solos. Lots of really talented singers in this one. Watch the music video here.

The B-Side is the “Let It Be (Gospel Jam Mix)” and it starts off with the choir type opening and the song kind of just keeps going with lots and lots of vocals, and it just sort of sounds like “Ooh, ooh… let it be…” over and over again. I’m not really getting this one at all, and that’s it.
