Personal Review:
So, this is one of those Gospel albums with like a super killer cover, and then yea.
So, the album opens with “Jesus With Love Me the Same” – which I’m pretty sure it’s Thelma on lead vocals, and well she has a pretty good Gospel voice, then the begins to like pick up and the whole group joins in, and you can really hear Floyd singing, (Floyd is such a chill name.) and Floyd’s voice really stands out compared to the others. You can’t really hear Kathy singing. I personally like this track. Love that steel guitar. Next up is “Jesus Found Me” which kind of has that railway sound to it, and it’s all three of the group members singing, but still Floyd and Thelma stand out more. Now Floyd and Kathy just be humming away here. They’re glad Jesus found them. Then after that comes “When I Step Off On That Beautiful Shore” – and that was a really long name, this one has all three vocalists singing, and I think it’s Kathy who stands out now, or maybe it is still Floyd and Thelma’s voices merging together to make Flema… Nonetheless, it’s a pretty good track. It’s hard to believe I am only three songs in. Then comes “There Ain’t No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down” – and what the hell kind of a name for an album is that? It’s Kathy Arnold singing, but what is up with that title? That is just such a weird title. The guitar playing is super cool though. Also, what was up with all the long titles? “Time Has Made a Change” is sung by Floyd, and he has that Richard Miller type of voice, and it’s pretty cool. Floyd is my homie now. These songs are really long too. Then after that the A-Side closes with “At The Crossing” and boy oh boy, that steel guitar is back, and the two girls heading up a duet with my boy Floyd doing the backing vocals, and these three are really good.
The B-Side opens with “I Came On Business from the King” and it is sung by Thelma and she’s really good, and so is this song. I definitely liked this song. Yup. I liked it. Next up comes “Lord I Can’t Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand” follows next and why the long title, and Floyd just hums away in the back while Thelma sings her little heart out. God bless her. This song is pretty nice too. That steel guitar. I swear they make these songs equally as long as the titles. It’s so weird. Why? Why do they do this? Then comes “On the Side of Jordan” (River of Jordan?) – that piano playing. The song is pretty nice, and it’s relaxing and calming and pretty nice. “Where We’ll Never Grow Old” follows next, and well, I guess they did not think of this song choice / title going with the album cover of this album, kind of ironic. Nice little spoken part by Kathy Arnold. She has a nice little voice. It’s a sweet little Southern granny voice. Then comes “Thank You Lord For Your Blessing on Me” and that first line is a rough one, but hey the album keeps going and it’s not awful! “I Saw the Face of Jesus” ends the album and it’s a pretty solid ending track to the album, the three of them are pretty good singers. I like this album. It’s pretty good. Nice Southern Gospel.
