W.V. Grant, Jr. – “Grant Country”

Personal Review:
 So, my first experience with W.V. Grant, Jr. was the song “I Should Have Been Crucified” – which is a personal favorite of mine, this is another one of his albums. Let’s do this!

 “All in the Name of Jesus / When I Say Jesus” opens the album, and well, it’s a different song, pretty slow, but it has that country feel to it. So, I guess that’s good? Then it goes into the song “When I Say Jesus” and it’s kinda boring, but hey, Mr. Grant is a good singer! After that comes the track, “If That Isn’t Love” which features some great backing vocal, but that is all that really stands out in this LP. “God Really Cares” comes next and it’s a pretty good track, not much to complain about, the musicianship is good and I like the vocals. Then comes the song “Jesus Got A’Hold of My Life” and it’s a pretty upbeat song, not really bad, I kinda really like it, and that piano playing! The A-Side closes with “Too Much to Gain to Lose” and hey, it’s a good closing track for the A-Side, it’s been pretty good Southern Gospel.

 The B-Side opens with “Rise and Be Healed” and once more, the backing vocals are more stand-out-ish compared to Mr. Grant’s vocals, but hey it’s a good opening track. Then comes the take off and it’s amazing! Then comes the song “Only Jesus Can Satisfy Your Soul” and it’s a good song, I really like the backing vocalist, they should do an album. I really like this song, and this album is pretty good. Then comes a favorite of mine, “My Tribute (To God Be the Glory)” and Grant sings it so well, I absolutely love it! Tremendous! Then comes the song “For those Tears I Died (Come to the Water)” comes next, and it’s a slow song, but it’s pretty great. “To Heal the Bruised / Let’s Just Praise the Lord” comes next, and the steel guitar is beautiful! So, this song is pretty good, and this album wasn’t that bad. I’ve liked it so far. Not bad at all.
