Personal Review:
So, finally we go onto two of my favorite country singers, Conway & Loretta, with what can only be considered one of their greatest releases.
The album opens with the title track, and my favorite track, “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” and immediately from the first notes, to each of the singers vocal parts the song proves to be amazing, Conway and Loretta are/were both very, very talented country singers whose voices just seem to compliment each other. After that we go onto the track “For Heaven’s Sake” and it’s a slower song, with Loretta doing the lead, and it’s quite fantastic, Conway does some parts too, and it’s a great track. After that comes the track “Release Me” and it’s fantastic, it’s another slower one, but the fact that these two singers are so unbelievably talented really makes it all the more worth it. “You Lay So Easy On My Mind” comes next, and I find a lot of the tracks are predominantly Loretta, which isn’t bad or anything, she’s fantastic on her own, but Conway is equally as great. “Our Conscience You and Me” and it’s another slower track, which is mainly Loretta, but hey. I like it. The A-Side closes with the track “As Good As a Lonely Girl Can Be” and it opens with some steel guitar and then Conway singing. There is a spoken word part by Conway as Loretta sings in the background.
The B-Side opens with the really upbeat “Bye Bye Love” and it’s pretty good, I do love the vocal parts they do together. After that comes “Living Together Alone” and it’s a slower one, but it passes by so quickly, it’s kind of sad, but it is another good track. “What Are We Going to Do About Us” comes next, and the two of them begin to sing the song beautifully, and I love it so much! “If You Touch Me (You’ve Got to Love Me)” comes next, and Conway just belts out some tunes, and it’s fantastic! I absolutely love it, this man was such a great singer, and I cannot get over how much I love this album! The album closes with the ever so sweet “Before Your Time” and once more, and finally on this terrific album do Conway and Loretta compliment each others vocals with such terrific singing. Love Conway and Loretta, anyone else ever wonder how great it would’ve been if Conway, Loretta, George Jones & Tammy Wynette sang together?
